DEMO DAY

In the first semester of 2012 the idea arose, between three innovation and entrepreneurship courses, to host a joint event through a Demo Day. For the first Demo Day, the student teams presented a pitch of their business idea, which they worked on in their respective classes, and competed for the opportunity to represent UC in the 2012 Virginia Tech Knowledge Works Global Student Business Concept Challenge.

Today, Demo Day is a competition of innovative ideas in which students from different courses from the School of Engineering and the University participate, presenting their innovation and entrepreneurship projects to a panel of judges and vie for the opportunity to represent the university in international competitions and can receive awards like training in entrepreneurship and innovation abroad.

Its objective is to publicize and celebrate work done in the academic semester, encourage formal training to develop necessary skills for innovation, and offer University students the opportunity to receive feedback on their innovation projects and ideas.
